A STUDY ON THE IMPACT OF GLOBALIZATION IN MARINE EXPORT WITH REFERENCE TO MPEDA ACT, 1972

Globalization paved the way for the origin and development of marine export in India, as it opened the gate of international trade and business. The history of marine export traces back 50 years. Globalization laid the foundation for fishery export and seafood plays a vital role in world nutrition. The main aim of this research paper is to know the impact of globalization in marine export with reference to MPEDA act, 1972. The paper also deals with the positive impacts of globalization on marine export and current marine export market of India and its decline due to covid. The object of this research is to know the functions, duties, rules and regulations of the MPEDA Act which is specifically enacted to develop marine export in India. Recent measures taken by the act are listed and the act has been critically analyzed for its improvement. MPEDA act’s online portal is noted to be a successful step taken by the government, it offers all details about the act, steps to be taken to become an exporter, methods of application and specific fee to be paid is all prescribed in the portal and it also provides financial support to all stakeholders in the fishing sector through the online portal to increase export production.
